Food and nourishment for our skin helps meet our need for nurturance. Our skin is the membrane that interacts with the outside world. It is protective and holds everything together. It is the part of all of us that is in close contact with the rest of the world. As a permeable layer, our skin is always bringing in and releasing out.
Skin is our largest organ, and a digestive organ. We absorb 80% of what we put on our skin, and what we absorb goes into our bloodstream and cycles through our other organs. We often think about nourishing ourselves from the inside out. We also have the opportunity to nourish ourselves from the outside in.
Nourishment is about nutrients, but also about relationships. Food for skin and nourishment provides an opportunity to befriend ourselves.
Ha.Lé now carries Erin Body Care products, expertly handcrafted from food grade ingredients and designed for daily nourishment. Erin Body Care is a woman-owned local company, and we are honored to partner with them.
The pandemic has provided an opportunity for our practice to deepen our connection to other like-minded, women-owned, soul-filled organizations. As we all have grown more fully into the right here, right now, we have a better sense of being in a body and giving our bodies the deep nourishment they need. We have opened more broadly with an increased multi-sensory perspective, and we can ask, what is qualified to be in our field? What resonates most deeply, and what nourishes us, inside and out?
Deeply local, handcrafted skincare made exclusively from food-grade ingredients creates better relationships and better nourishment. Buying locally resonates in our being. It connects us to our community and our collective health.
